On September 5, 2019, an expanded Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held, in which the director of the ARQA Agency Azamat Kasymkhanov took part. In the framework of the meeting, the main tasks of education and science were outlined in the light of the implementation of the Address of the Head of State to the people of Kazakhstan “Constructive dialogue - the basis of stability and prosperity of Kazakhstan” and other pressing issues were considered.
Opening the meeting, the Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aymagambetov noted: “In the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the most pressing issues of society were reflected. These are issues of protecting the rights of children, improving the quality of higher education, the difference in the quality of knowledge between ungraded and comprehensive schools, between rural and city schools, questions about career guidance and others. The Government and the Ministry of Education have been given clear instructions. Our task is to immediately take effective measures on these instructions and begin their implementation.”
The plenary part of the meeting was addressed by employees of the ministry, regional education departments, and representatives of international organizations. They presented the main visions of solving these problems, including what changes should be made to the education system and in what directions to move.
The members of the extended board continued a more detailed discussion of the topic at breakout sessions, where concrete proposals for taking effective measures were heard.
The results of the plenary part were summed up by the Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aymagambetov, noting that measures are needed to develop and adopt normative legal acts on the implementation of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
